Fasano Fifth Avenue, New York’s Latest Private Club, Debuts Luxury Residences

A private club and luxury residences under one, well-designed roof? Consider it done.

“Luxury hotel brand Fasano, whose flagship property is located in São Paulo, Brazil, has officially arrived on New York’s Upper East Side with its first-ever North American outpost, Fasano Fifth Avenue. But unlike its Brazilian hotel counterparts, Fasano Fifth Avenue will only be visited by a handful of people.

This is because Fasano Fifth Avenue is an exclusive private member’s club in addition to a hotel designed for long-term stays of around 30 days (available only for members). Fasano Fifth Avenue will also have four move-in ready duplex-style residences. It’s a mid-rise, 14-story building on Fifth Avenue, between 62nd and 63rd streets. It’s discreet (and ultra-chic) and the building is hidden in plain sight among the luxury shops of Manhattan’s Gold Coast area.

The rise of private member’s clubs is undeniable as people look for places for both work and play, and Fasano Fifth Avenue has four floors of beautiful spaces, including a lobby, private dining salon and Baretto bar with a courtyard garden. There are two additional floors with seven Clubhouse Suites, rooms that are available to club members that act as hotel-like rooms. Levels five through 12 are the duplex residences. The club faces Central Park and each floor has beautiful views of the park and skyline. It combines five-star hotel amenities with an exclusive place to dine, drink, work and lounge.

The building was an 18th-century townhome that was acquired in 2012 by JHSF Holdings. The building was redone by renowned interior architect Thierry Despont and impeccably designed with nods to Fasano’s Brazilian roots. Everything from the wood-paneled lobby to the custom furniture and Brazilian contemporary furnishings. There’s also a fantastic art collection throughout Fasano Fifth Avenue. Despont also wanted to incorporate an authentic New York feel, which he did through black-and-white vintage prints of New York City scenes that are hung throughout dining outpost Baretto.

It’s the residential offerings, however, that are incredibly unique for a private member’s club, and it’s something that hasn’t been done before in New York. There are four duplex residences with unobstructed views of Central Park and the city skyline, and each feature three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a powder room. The duplex residences rent at $100,000 a month, according to Erin Boisson Aries at Christie’s. Measuring around 3,600 square feet, the residences have beautiful Parisian- and Brazilian-style finishings and warm, ambient lighting. Each residence features beautiful handcrafted oval stairs that connect to the Master Suite floor, which also features an outdoor terrace overlooking the park.

The kitchen in each residence has built-in lacquered cabinets and state-of-the-art appliances. The bathrooms are fully marble with gorgeous mirrors. Each duplex has unique art collections and also has custom green textured wallpaper in the dining rooms, a nod to lush Brazilian foliage. The textiles are nothing short of sumptuous and include Loro Piana cashmere fabrics, silk velvets, gaufrage linens and custom area rugs.

Membership benefits include access to all of Fasano Fifth Avenue; ability to book Clubhouse Suites and rent the residences; gym and sauna; members-only events at Baretto; concierge and lifestyle management services; private shopping appointments with fashion partner brands; VIP access to Christie’s top auctions and pre-sale events; laundry, dry cleaning and shoe shine services; access to the dedicated wine and spirits program; and unique benefits at Fasano’s Brazilian hotels.”
